Changing posts per page option

I recently changed my posts per page from 20 to 10.

Do i need to empty cache or is it ok to just carry on?

You do not need to empty anything - cache will reorganize itself

In case of database cache results will be taken in more queries (but we have smart solution for that so in bet case it will be only one additional query).

In case of guest cache/memory cache new whole pages will be cached after old one expires - so for threads it is by default after one hour.
