Is the issue occurs if you temporarily disable vBET? Is the database is encoded in UTF?
We repaired coding messages for UTF-8 databases (vBET3 and vBET4) in vBET 3.9.0, 4.8.0 (http://www.vbenterprisetranslator.com/forum/vbet-announcements/4326-vbet-3-9-0-4-8-0-5-1-0-released.html).
Please try update your vB and vBET.

The solution to this problem:

(ONLY for utf-8 charactersets) Set characterset value in lowercase
- vBETTM is case sensitive for characterset. So if you are using utf-8 then make sure that you have set 'utf-8'
